The situation
Illiquid assets represent trillions in global AUM but remain among the hardest to value, monitor, and trade. The tokenised real-world assets market is projected to grow from $3.2B in 2024 to $21.8B by 2033. Most fund managers still run on spreadsheets and quarterly valuations.
The client was a $10M-funded global FinTech with 30+ years of domain expertise — but a product suite that was technically strong and UX-poor. Complex tools for sophisticated users had been built by finance experts, not product teams. Adoption was limited as a result.
The problem
- Complex product suite for monitoring, simulating, and projecting illiquid assets — but poor UX limiting adoption across user types
- Government funds and banks require on-premise deployment incompatible with standard SaaS delivery
- 30+ years of cross-domain finance expertise encoded in manual processes with no automated simulation using live market data
- Products needed to serve diverse segments (funds, credit, corporates) with different asset sizes and management needs
- High-value B2B product required rigorous testing and validation to gain sovereign fund approval
What we built
JWS engineers embedded with the client team to manage architecture, scaling, and security — not as external consultants but as part of the product delivery team.
- Multi-product PaaS — tiered offerings for different user segments based on fund sizes and asset types
- Automated simulation — live market data integration powering real-time asset valuation projections
- Proprietary algorithm — 30+ years of finance expertise encoded into automated analysis
- Portfolio monitoring — continuous tracking with volatility alerts and value projection modelling
- On-premise deployment architecture meeting sovereign fund and large bank security mandates
- UX redesign — comprehensive study transforming complex finance tools into intuitive interfaces
- Multi-persona design — distinct journeys for fund managers, credit analysts, and corporate treasurers
- Onshore support resources deployed in multiple countries for government client servicing
The outcome
5+ government fund deployments secured. 50+ institutional clients live. 4 additional products now in development off the back of this engagement.
The UX redesign unlocked adoption across user types that the previous interface was blocking. On-premise architecture solved the security mandate problem that was the single biggest blocker to government fund sales.

| UX | Complex, specialist-only | Multi-persona intuitive interfaces |
| Simulation | Manual, quarterly | Automated with live market data |
| Deployment | Cloud SaaS | On-premise for govt clients |
